Award Nomination Guidelines

Service Unit Approved Awards:

  1. Nomination packets must be complete before submission
  2. Nominations for the following awards should be submitted to the Service Unit Manager or Service Unit Recognitions Coordinator no later than February 15:
    • Outstanding Leader
    • Outstanding Volunteer
    • Service Project Award
    • Recognition of Support
  3. It is possible that not everyone who is nominated will receive an award. Nominators should not tell nominees they have been nominated as this only leads to hurt feelings if an award is not made. All decisions are final. Click here, choose the appropriate category, and fill out the form(s). You may contact the Pioneer Council office to have a nomination workbook sent to you.

  2. The nominator will receive a letter regarding the decision. In addition, a direct letter of invitation will be sent to the nominee by the Council for board-approved awards.
  3. In the event a nomination is denied, a letter is sent to the nominator immediately following the decision.
  5. The Council uses set criteria so that decisions are fair, unbiased and based solely on nomination information. The Council tries to ensure full geographic and ethnic representation in the final list of those to be recognized and refers to a master list of past recipients in order to prevent duplication or repetitious recognition of the same person.
