My Girl Scout Experience
Growing up on Long Island in New York was a wonderful experience due to the fact that I was a part of the Girl Scouts. I can remember learning how to sew and making my first sewing bag. I enjoyed many outdoor activities at Christopher Morley Park. Attending Girl Scout summer camp was always a highlight of my summer. I learned how to work with the rest of my troop to achieve my goals. I learned to be prepared. The importance of safety and honor were also stressed. The Girl Scouts helped me by giving me a sense of belonging and the courage to achieve my goals. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to be a Girl Scout.
