Completed Dream Catcher

According to Native American legend, the Dream Catcher allows good dreams to pass through and slide down onto the sleeper. A bad dream becomes entangled in the web of the Dream Catcher.

Supplies Needed:

  • Wooden Hoop
  • 5-1/2 Yards 20# Hemp
  • Turquoise Pony Beads
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Cut a 2-yard piece of hemp and tie it to the wooden hoop.
  2. Using diagram at right, tie approximately six half hitches around the hoop weaving in pony beads as you work.

  1. Then begin tying half hitches in the middle of the knots you have made until you reach the middle. Tie off, trim.
  2. Tie three 8" pieces of hemp to the bottom of the hoop and two pieces to each side. Tie beads on the ends. Trim.
  3. Tie a small piece of hemp to the top as a hanger.

To Use:

Hang your new Dream Catcher on the wall or from the ceiling above your bed and enjoy good dreams!
