Camp Staff Positions
General Qualifications
The ability and desire to work with girls and
adults as a team member is essential. Previous camping experience and a Girl Scout
background is helpful but not required.

Positions

Assistant Camp Director
Expands program theme through knowledge and experience. Assists the Camp Director with administration, camp operation, and staff supervision. Supervises Program Aides. A member of the administrative team, implementing all camp activities. Coordinates and supervises unit and staff schedules.

Arts & Crafts Director
Plans, directs and supervises the camp’s creative arts program, including drama, crafts, jewelry and weaving. A member of the administrative team.

Waterfront Director
Supervises all waterfront activities and waterfront staff. American Red Cross Lifeguard, Waterfront Lifeguard, Head Lifeguard and WSI Certificates required. A member of the administrative team, helps with management of overall camp program when not at the waterfront. Works with units as well as all camp and daily activities with girls.

Lifeguards / Boating Instructor
Assists the waterfront director with lifeguarding and teaches swimming lessons. ARC Lifeguard and Waterfront Lifeguard Certificates required. Canoe Instructor Certification is needed for Boating Instructor. Will participate in all camp activities.

Unit Leader
Responsible for planning, implementing, and managing unit programs in partnership with campers and staff. Includes supervision of unit staff and campers.

Works under the direction of the Unit Leader and is responsible for supervision of and positive interaction with campers. |

Essential Functions
- Ability to communicate to staff and campers the safety regulations and emergency procedures
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to camp
- Ability to communicate and work with campers of various age and skill levels to provide necessary instructions
- Ability to observe campers behavior, and enforce safety regulations
- Physical ability to respond to situations requiring first aid
- Cognitive and communicative ability to plan and conduct the activities
