If you could travel anywhere…
As a Girl Scout…
Daisy says “Follow the Cookie Program Rules”: All Registered Girl Scouts can sell cookies. Even Girl Scout Daisies! This is the first year that Girl Scout Daisies will be allowed to participate in our cookie program! You must give your troop/group leader/assistant a signed parent permission slip in order to sell cookies. SAFETY is ALWAYS job #1! Follow all of the guidelines. Daisy Girl Scouts must have 1 on 1 adult supervision at all times while selling.
Daisy says “Use the Tools”: Setting goals is important. Girls should determine what they want to use their troop profits for before the program begins. As a group, you should calculate how many boxes of cookies you will need to sell in order to make your goal! Troops/groups who “Goal Plan” together have great results. Girls can also earn a Goal Getter patch! For every troop/group that made “goal planning on-line” a troop/group activity, the TROOP/GROUP increased almost 20%! Goal Planning is fun and it works! Set your goals on-line @ www.abcsmartcookies.com The Cookie Times (in your troop training packet) and the ABC Smart Cookies website both have a variety of tools and activities for Troop/Group Leaders to take advantage of, for the duration of the cookie sale. The “Cookie Construction Zone” training kit for Service Units has been developed this year for Girl Scout Brownies and Juniors. It is a great tool to help everyone get ready for our program. You can check it out, but reserve in advance. A smaller version of this kit has been added for Girl Scout Daisies. Note: This activity is designed for a minimum of 6 Girl Scout Brownie or Junior troops within a Service Unit and takes 3 hours to complete. The Girl Scout Daisy Cookie Construction Zone kit is designed for at least 3 troops and takes 1 1/2 hours to complete. Don’t wait until the last minute to reserve it. Cookie Costumes are available at the council office for Girl Scouts to use at functions, parades, or cookie shops. Troop leaders can reserve the costumes through the council office. Doorknob hangers are also available on-line and on the ABC cookie website. It’s a great way to let neighbors know when and where your troop will be selling cookies in the area. They’re not just for Walk About.
Daisy says “Earn “cool” Recognitions”: Each girl who participates in the cookie program will earn a Participation patch. Achievement bars will also be available to girls selling over 50 boxes. Girl Scouts who set goals on-line by the time they turn in their initial order card will earn the Goal Getter patch.
Girls who sell 200 boxes of cookies on their initial orders have the opportunity to earn a 6 inch plush version of Caramel! Just turn in the initial order card to your troop leader on or before January 16, 2009, with at least 200 boxes on your order to qualify for this recognition.
What’s NEW for 2008/2009?
Cinna Spins are getting a new shape and a new name:
We thank all the troop/groups, leaders, girls and their families for all YOU do to make this event a success each year. A VERY special thank you (in advance), goes out to our Service Unit Cookie Coordinators & Service Unit Cookie Cupboards for taking on this huge effort!
Everyday you make a difference to Girls in our area!
