Who can be a Girl Scout?Girl Scouts welcomes all girls, ages 5 to 17 and grades K through 12, who accept and adhere to the Girl Scout Promise and Law. How much does it cost?Annual membership dues are only $10. How Can You Become a Girl Scout? The mission of Girl Scouts - to help girls develop to their fullest potential and become caring and resourceful women - is as vital today as it was in 1912, when the organization began. Through the many enriching experiences provided by Girl Scouting, girls grow courageous and strong. Typically, girls are placed in troops based on their school's location or where they live. The availability of troops is determined by the numbers of volunteer leaders in the area. Volunteers are Girl Scouting's most valuable resource. The Girl Scout organization is volunteer based and driven. Troops are formed as qualified leadership becomes available. Every troop requires at least two adult volunteers. It is a great experience for parents/guardians to participate in their daughter's troop activities. Everyone has something special to contribute. If your daughter would like to join a Girl Scout troop, we encourage you to complete our Girl Scout Interest Form. Please note this is not a registration form. We will use this information to try to place your daughter into a troop. If a troop is not available for your daughter, she may choose to register independently for Girl Scout opportunities and events as a Juliette Girl Scout. For more information please complete the Girl Scout Interest Form or contact Girl Scouts of the Pioneer Council at 704-864-3245 or toll-free at 1-800-627-6031. You may also send us an email using this form. |
