I Love Camp Golden Valley Patch
Daisy, Brownie & Junior Girl Scouts and Girls 11-17
A patch program designed to help Girl Scouts learn more about Camp
Golden Valley and become familiar with its resident camp program.
Complete 6 of the following activities, including numbers 1 & 2. Daisy,
Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts must also do requirement 5.
- Using the Camp Brochure, go over all the resident camp sessions
available for your troop/group age level.
- Share the information on the Troop/Group Resident Camp Fact Sheet
with your troop/group.
- Invite a girl who has attended Resident Camp, either from your
troop/group or another troop/group, to share her positive camp
experiences at a troop/group meeting.
- Have parents attend your troop/group meeting when you do
requirements 1, 2 and 3.
- Have each girl in your troop/group complete a Resident Camp
Coloring Sheet and take it home to show her parent(s) or
guardian(s). The coloring sheet is on the back of the
parent/guardian letter.
- Make a poster about Resident Camp and display it in your town at
a store, library, school, etc. Include the council's name,
address, and phone number so interested people can contact the
office for more information.
- Do a service project for Camp Golden Valley. Example: clean
windows, work on nature trail, clean chairs in lodge, pick up litter,
repair tents, etc. Please check with Camp Ranger before starting
your project to okay dates, etc.
- Have at least two girls from your troop/group who have attended
Resident Camp recruit buddies to go to camp with them next summer.
(Buddies do not have to be from the troop/group, or be a
Girl Scout).
- As a troop/group, go visit another troop/group who is not working
on this patch and share with them what you have learned about Camp
Golden Valley.
- Go to Camp Golden Valley for a one or two-night weekend
camping trip.
- Have 50% of your troop/group register to attend Resident Camp.
