Troop 2, West Gaston, Brownies at Brusters
Girl Scout Brownie Troop 2 recently visited Brusters Ice Cream. The troop is currently working on their “Careers Try It”. Mr Wilson, of Brusters, was kind enough to demonstrate how they make their yummy ice creams,
yogurts, cakes, pies and waffle cones during the visit and everyone got to enjoy a treat at the end!
This was the special activity as part of Girl Scout Brownie Troop 2’s "3rd Annual Riverwood Clubhouse Sleepover" where the girls have the opportunity to bond with all the new girls in the troop this year.
Troop 196, Denver, Self-Defense Course
Girl Scout Junior Troop 196 in Denver completed a four-lesson self-defense course with American Taekwondo Association Lake Norman-Denver in September which
will go toward earning a badge about safety this year. The troop members advanced to earn their orange belts. Troop 292, West Gaston, Bronze Award
Niki C. of Junior Troop 292 finished her bronze award by presenting eyeglasses she collected for "Recycle for Sight" to Pat Steele. Lenscrafters and Ms. Steele are Gaston County's representative for this humanitarian effort to help people around the world who need glasses.
Troop 292, West Gaston, Service Project

Troop 211, West Gaston, Float and Boat
Girl Scout Cadette Troop 211 celebrated their bridging to Cadettes and the start of summer at a “Float and Boat”,
hosted by retired Pioneer Council Executive Director Sylvia Holmes July 13th at her home on Lake Norman.
Five Girl Scout Juniors from Troop 30 Bridged over on June 1st to join Cadette Troop 211. A day of fun included a hotdog lunch followed by a variety of water activities. Following an afternoon at the Lake, the girls made their way to Dairy Queen on Franklin Boulevard in Gastonia to celebrate Girl Scout Appreciation Week and tried the new Blizzard made with Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies.
Troop 211, West Gaston, Interest Project
On April 26th, Scouts from Cadette Troop 211 prepared and served an Italian meal as part of the annual International Dinner at St. Michael Catholic Church. Preparing and serving at the festival helped the
Girl Scouts earn their Creative Cooking Interest Project. Each Girl Scout researched an appropriate dish which she prepared and brought to the evening’s event. Once at the event, the Girl Scouts made themselves useful helping with many set-up chores. When it was time to eat, the Cadettes served samples of their dishes to the dinner attendees. Jessie B., Allie C., and Marie M. of troop 935 held a “Day of fun and games for Girl Scout Brownies” at Camp Rotary on May 17th.
