Troop 125, Kitty Love/Mt Holly, Well Deserved Break
Selling Girl Scout cookies can be hard work!  Troop 125 in the Kitty Love/Mt. Holly Service Unit enjoyed a well deserved break during one of their cookie shops at the Belmont Bi-Lo!  The troop used their profits to have a well deserved Karaoke party after the program ended! Pictured are Brenna G., Elizabeth B., Elise D., Megan B. and Abigail W.

Troop 800, Rutherford/Polk, Hometown Heroes
Hometown Heroes deliveries by girls in troop 800 were exciting and well worth the effort!  The girls made 11 stops in Polk County on Friday April 3rd.  Many of our heroes were excited to share their facilities with the girls and were really touched to have been thought of by Girl Scouts. Two fire departments showed off their trucks and one EMT unit took the girls in the ambulance and hooked them up to the heart monitor...very cool experience for the girls! Our girls got the privilege of presenting our hometown heroes at Sunny View FD their cookies at their monthly meeting the following Monday. The volunteer fire department was awesome. They showed the girls the trucks and ambulances... they even took the girls for a ride in the truck! We then went to their meeting with cards from the girls, a cake and plenty of cookies!

Troop 923, East Gastonia, took the "law" into their own hands!
The Girl Scout law that is…Troop 923 in Gaston county is filled with girls who are anxious to "make the world a better place" (which is part of the Girl Scout law).  They decided to apply this portion of the law to a community service project that they recently completed.

The Girl Scouts in troop 923 decided to adopt a family who recently became the recipient of a habitat home here in Gaston County but still needed a little help to get through the holidays.  You've heard of Santa's helpers?  Well, these Girl Scouts became Habitat Helpers during the recent holidays.  The "helpers" told friends, families and a fewbusinesses about their project and received donations of money and gift cards from many of them.

As a result, the Girl Scouts in troop 923 were able to plan, shop and wrap gifts that would surely make this a special holiday for this family. They delivered a complete Christmas dinner, a new outfit for each child in the family and several Christmas gifts!

Troop 2, West Gaston, Brownies at Brusters
Girl Scout Brownie Troop 2 recently visited Brusters Ice Cream. The troop is currently working on their “Careers Try It”. Mr Wilson, of Brusters, was kind enough to demonstrate how they make their yummy ice creams, yogurts, cakes, pies and waffle cones during the visit and everyone got to enjoy a treat at the end!

This was the special activity as part of Girl Scout Brownie Troop 2’s  "3rd Annual Riverwood Clubhouse Sleepover" where the girls have the opportunity to bond with all the new girls in the troop this year.

Troop 196, Denver, Self-Defense Course
Girl Scout Junior Troop 196 in Denver completed a four-lesson self-defense course with American Taekwondo Association Lake Norman-Denver in September which will go toward earning a badge about safety this year.  The troop members advanced to earn their orange belts.
