Living the Law

The Living the Law program is a series of activities emphasizing the ten parts of the Girl Scout Law.  Living the Law is designed to invite each girl and adult Girl Scout to reconnect to the values that renew and affirm the foundation of the Girl Scout program. As we approach the 100 years of Girl Scouting, let us aspire to reach and teach Living the Law to Every Girl Everywhere. The Girl Scout Law should be said at each troop/group meeting following the Girl Scout Promise.

The Living the Law program begins with a pledge for the Girl Scout to sign. Explain that a pledge is an agreement and that by signing the Girl Scout has given her word of honor to uphold these ideals.

Each month, one of the ten parts of the Girl Scout Law will be featured on the council website and your service unit agenda. We will feature Living the Law activities for each age level.  To earn the Living the Law patch and age-level bar, choose one activity for each part of the Girl Scout Law, (example: choose one activity from Honest and one activity from Fair).  At the end of the ten-month program each participant will have earned a ‘Living the Law’ patch.  The patches and age-level bars are available for purchase at the council shop upon completion of the Living the Law program. You may complete the activities in any order...you do not have to complete them in the specific month that they are featured by the council.
